WenzdaysParty : My Playlist : Midnight Hour : Drones : RodeCaster Pro : Cattle Dogs : March 9, 2023

Things I have to discuss!

  • Playlist for WoodyRadio.com March 9, 2023
  • Wenzdays Party
  • Midnight Hour - New Dress/Coming Review
  • Drones
  • RodeCaster Pro - I bought one/Review coming
  • Cattle Dogs!

Here's the new Playlist for Today on WoodyRadio (see Below).

Techies issues are getting better, and I am getting used to speaking on the mic, as oppossed to speaking live (oddness), anyway Djing with Sam is a struggle, it crashes, and the company keeps promising a fix.

One awesome thing, I saved money to purchase a Rodecaster, this is the saving grace of my life, besides my pupper Mathilda. I will write a proper review on this wonderfully terrific ASAP!

I had a terribly fun night at WenzdaysParty, lots of dancing, lots of exciting people. Saw
some friends, and made a few new ones. I had some drinks with friends over in the bar for a while, then headed over next door to the dance floor. Seriously, I must do this this every week.

Anyway, I got the chance to wear a new dress I purchased Midnight Hour (I will write about this later), it was so cold though, I wore thick leggings, it was even colder when I left. Good lord thankfully I parked right across the street! Cold Cold Cold in the H!

Well, I got home safe, walked the Mahilda dog. Cattle Dogs are high energy puppies, and you must give them walks, and a job. Otherwise, the couch, the pillows, the carpet, socks will become items for destruction. I love these dogs, I've had them my whole life. Matty is a horrid little girl, her parents come from Australia, she's a bossy little pup, always trying to herd me. They are just companions to have if you are responsible - love them!

Seriously, did I mention a guy saw me before leaving to Hollywood (
Wenzdays Party)
and came up saying he was droning my home checking out my solar. Oddness squared! He did say my house was very nice, and engaged me in conversation for a while. I think they should ask me, frist, but ok, whatever!

We sleep in peace for another day!

Yelle @ The Belasco Friday March 3rd 2023 Los Angeles (I went and it was Awesome)

I’ve been waiting for years to see Yelle, when the tickets went up for sale a few months ago, I grabbed a couple as quickly as I could, set the reminder on my phone - Friday finally came.

I have walked past the Belasco Theatre 1000’s of times, I think when I was a teenager, it was boarded up. Parking was fairly reasonable, compared to some venues, and if you use a parking app, it’s so much easier , making it hassle free. I didn’t have to go from place-to-place looking for a spot, or walk several blocks, literally, I parked right across the street . This saved my feet, I had new boots on, and seriously, they are not broke in, who needs sore feet when you are seeing Yelle?

Anyway, the staff at the  Belasco are great, I’ve never been inside of this art deco gem. The staff there are really helpful, greeting you, making sure you do not lose your license, phone, or wallet – while checking you in, they are fast, and super!

Thankfully, I bought tickets that allowed me to get in early. And for 20 extra bucks, I was able to upgrade to lounge seating. I ordered 2 cranberry malibu’s, and my designated driver, 2 diet cokes! Seriously, the whole experience was great, friendly servers, great staff, great security, just an awesome club! Belasco!

The opening act was a Franco-American group called Faux Real. Their music was a dance, techno, pop, big-beat influenced ; it’s hard to define really, but these guys put it to the crowd. Entering the stage all in white, they dance, entangle, dance, synchronize, tease the audience, and put on a wonderfully terrific show.

I met them afterwards, great guys, but right when I was going to buy their vinyl record, the girl in front of me bought the last one, damn her!!!!

Check out Faux Real!

Then came Yelle.

Julie Budet, the singer came out in a camel-colored trench coat, her bandmates slamming away on 2 drum sets.

The band held their own through the whole show, with few breaks other than Julie telling us to get ready for more dancing, more fun, and a quick costume change.

Favorites like Ba$$in, Complètement Fou had us all  going wild, clapping, jumping and dancing. I have trouble in boots, but Julie wore high heel shoes grooving through the whole set, impressive, most impressive….

I think Yelle played for close to a 1 ½ hours, the show was so much fun, the crowd happy, the band animated, Julie singing and dancing, talking to us, this is one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

If Yelle comes around again, do not miss them!

March/1/2024 - Trouble with Windows 11, Logi Tech Headset saved my show...

*Suicide Commando is coming to Los Angeles
**Birthday Massacre playing Sick New World

Windows 11 did an update and broke my show. Threw all my drivers out, and my set crashed. I was able to get the music going, but no voice would come online. WTH!!!!
Seriusly, I had to grab my Logi Tech Headset and plug direct into my Laptop, yanking all my Rodecaster USB-C cables, speakers - everything!

Horrible!!! Well, I guess I'll have my trusty Engineer back all this out, and get to work fixing all things.

Did I miss anything? Yes.... Come chat with us, come listen to me at WoodyRadio.com.

Up early an off to Orange County Record Show

Well, I was up early, and intended to get there to spend the extra money to get in, but my Cattle Dogs demanded a walking, my puppy tore up a cushion – cleanup time!

Finally, after all my starts, stops, planning, grabbing a quick snack, forgetting may bag (record carrier) I made it, found parking relatively easy. This place is packed!

Awesome , five bucks to get in, the team up front were really nice, I told them it’s my first time here, and they directed me to the tables, and even mentioned I should buy a bag to carry my purchases (see pictures). Totally necessary purchase, as I mentioned, I forgot my normal bag, not too bad! I must say again, the team greeting you at the front awesome girls!!!

Anyway, the place is packed, people, vendors tables, and records, and records everywhere.

I bought a ton of Lena Lovich singles from the first table , and against the wall was a huge selection of Punk, and rare metal. The guys at this table were really knowledgeable, and after speaking to them, they gave me a break on the price as I bought a decent batch of records. I believe one of the guys was a bother to the guy putting on the record convention. I mentioned, I was looking for Industrial, EBM and Gothic, and he pointed me to another table across the hall. I like the way all the tables I went to would point me to various vendors who had what I was looking for.

I had a budget, seriously, I wasn’t going to break it, then I got to Jesse’s table, or “Vinyl Obsessions’ LA”. I mentioned just how much I loved his collections, and what he was selling; Jesse was so nice, and went through his bins with me, pointing out where the hidden gems were . Also, he showed me some nice new releases, and we talked about our favorite bands. I recommend Jesse’s tables, usually tables 7 and 8, if you are looking for EBM, Gothic, Industrial, 80’s and new wave. He’s a friendly guy, and very helpful! I overspent, broke my budget….

I give the Orange County Record Show an A+, had an awesome time, bought many collectibles, I’m going to play them, and play them on my show.

I will be back. The Orange County Record Show is held on the last Sunday of every month.

My awesome day out.

I'm going to be doing a Radio show called Midnight Vespers.

I started DJing on Woody Radio.

Every Wednesday & Thursday I will play for 2 hours. I am going to try and play bands from the 80's and contemporary.

Anyway, lets see how it goes, and I will write a weekly blog explaining what happens as I learn the prcocess, and I will be receaching out to bands for music, and hopefully I can get some interviews, and improve upon the show as time goes by.

I'm also going to do some reviews on my equipment, concerts, clubs, record stores, and any fun things that come my way.
I'm throwing in some reviews on clothes too.

Well, here's the scoop on my Radio show!
